Say goodbye to stained teeth with our teeth whitening treatment

Staining agents such as coffee, wine, and cigarettes can cause your teeth to turn yellow or brown over time as they lose their natural white colour.
It’s hard to feel confident about your smile when your teeth are stained or discoloured. You don’t want to hide your smile anymore, and you want it to look its best. You know that you should probably whiten them, but you’re not sure how or where to start.
Darch Dental Centre offers safe and effective teeth whitening services to give your teeth a whiter, more beautiful look. Teeth whitening is a procedure in cosmetic dentistry that removes stains and discolourations from teeth. With a professional teeth whitening solution, you can enjoy whiter teeth. Our experienced dentists use the latest techniques and technology to ensure that you get the best possible results. Getting rid of unwanted stains can give you more confidence in your beautiful smile.

FAQ's About Teeth Whitening

Darch Dental Centre offers several whitening procedures to give your teeth a whiter, more beautiful appearance. Our whitening procedures include:

  • Zoom! In-office Whitening System: Zoom Whitening can whiten your teeth by up to eight shades in just one visit. This 90-minute session comes with a free take-home kit that can be used to touch up your results.
  • Take-home Whitening System: Our goal is to provide you with as many teeth whitening options as possible since not everyone has time to visit our dental clinic. We’ll prepare the take-home whitening trays within half an hour and send you home with everything you need.
A dental health assessment is necessary to determine whether teeth whitening treatment is right for you. Your teeth and gums should ideally be in good condition with no fillings or restorations. Please make an appointment at Darch Dental Centre so that we can take a look at your oral health and recommend the best option for teeth whitening.

Generally, teeth whitening is considered safe, but there are some possible risks:

  • You may experience temporary tooth sensitivity after one or two treatments. You may need to apply sodium fluoride gel or potassium nitrate gel to ease your discomfort.
  • If the whitening product comes into contact with your gum tissue, it can cause gum irritation and redness. However, the discomfort will eventually subside.
  • The post-treatment gel from take-home whitening kits may cause nausea and vomiting if ingested. It is almost impossible for this to occur since your custom-fitted tray should fit practically perfectly around your teeth.
The duration of an in-office teeth whitening procedure can vary from person to person, depending on your dental practitioner’s treatment, the product used, and your oral health. At Darch Dental Centre, you can expect one in-chair teeth whitening session at our dental clinic to take approximately 90 minutes.
We offer take-home whitening treatments that can be completed at home under the direction of our dentist. A half-hour appointment is all it takes to take an impression of your teeth and make custom trays for you. After that, you will receive everything you need to complete your at-home whitening, including instructions. All you have to do is apply the whitening gel to your custom-fitted trays and wear them for a set amount of time.
Teeth whitening is not guaranteed to last forever. Results typically last only 1-3 years, or even longer if you do not smoke or stay away from foods that stain your teeth, like coffee and tea. Our recommendation is to schedule in-chair treatments every 2–3 years if you want to keep your healthy-looking, sparkling smile looking great.
Brush and floss regularly to maintain your teeth whitening results and prevent plaque buildup. Foods and beverages that leave stains, like tea, coffee, and berries, should be avoided. Since tobacco products can quickly stain or re-stain your teeth, it is strongly recommended that you stop smoking and chewing tobacco for your health and smile. We also recommend visiting your dentist twice a year for dental check-ups to keep your teeth looking beautiful.

The price of tooth whitening will depend on the type of dental treatment you choose and the tooth colour you desire. Kits for teeth whitening at home can cost as much as $380, while in-chair whitening which comes with a take-home kit can cost as much as $900 per session.

Health insurance funds usually do not cover the cost of teeth whitening because they are not considered essential dental procedures. Before teeth whitening treatment, please check with your health fund provider to see what is covered.
